AI30 Dry Ice Blaster for Packaging Lines Clears Hot-Melt Glue Fast

Updated August 2026

Hot-Melt Glue Is a Recurring Packaging-Line Maintenance Problem

Packaging lines can accumulate adhesive overspray and residue around applicators, guide rails, rollers, guards and other compatible surfaces. Manual scraping and solvent cleaning can add labor, chemical handling and post-clean recovery to scheduled maintenance.

The AI30 dry ice blaster is a waterless, non-abrasive option for suitable packaging-equipment contamination.

Current AI30 Specifications

  • Power: 110 V / 60 Hz
  • Hopper: 44 lb (20 kg)
  • Dry ice output: 0.66–1.32 lb/min
  • Pellet size: 3 mm or smaller
  • Working pressure: 87–116 PSI
  • Machine air demand: 71–141 CFM
  • Indoor air-supply guidance: about 80 CFM practical minimum; 90–120 CFM recommended for regular use

Compressor compatibility should be verified from sustained CFM and PSI rather than horsepower alone.

Where Dry Ice Blasting Can Fit

  • Hot-melt adhesive residue on compatible surfaces
  • Ink, label and packaging residue
  • Production buildup around accessible mechanical components
  • Maintenance where adding water is undesirable

Application results vary with adhesive chemistry, temperature, substrate, nozzle, airflow and surface condition. Test sensitive materials first and follow the packaging-equipment manufacturer’s maintenance requirements.

What It Does Not Replace

The AI30 is not an abrasive surface-preparation system. Heavy rust, deeply bonded coatings and work requiring surface profiling may need the abrasive-ready AI50 or another process.

FAQ

How much dry ice does the AI30 use?

The current adjustable feed-rate specification is 0.66–1.32 lb/min. Actual job consumption depends on trigger time, feed setting, nozzle, air supply, contaminant, operator technique and dry-ice loss before use.

Does the AI30 need a 10 HP compressor?

Do not use horsepower alone as the compatibility rule. The current AI30 machine air-demand range is 71–141 CFM at 87–116 PSI. About 80 CFM is a practical indoor minimum and approximately 90–120 CFM at around 100 PSI is preferred for many regular professional jobs, provided the compressor can sustain that output.

Conclusion

The AI30 can be a practical packaging-line maintenance tool when waterless contamination removal and reduced added cleaning media are valuable. Air supply and material compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.
