How Dry Ice Blasting Machines Effectively Remove Residues and Dust from Surfaces
This video shows dry ice blasting used to remove compatible surface residue and dust. The dry ice media sublimates after impact, so it does not leave conventional spent blasting grit or liquid water behind.
Removed dust, residue, coatings, grease, or other contamination still remains and may become airborne or fall to surrounding surfaces. Use appropriate containment, collection, ventilation, and PPE.
Pure dry ice blasting is generally non-abrasive compared with conventional abrasive media, but it is not universally damage-free or suitable for every sensitive component. Test the actual substrate and contamination, and follow the equipment manufacturer’s procedures before wider cleaning.
