Dry Ice Blasting Equipment: What You Need for a Complete Working System
A Dry Ice Blaster Is Only One Part of the System
A complete dry ice blasting setup includes the blaster, compressor, air treatment, dry ice, insulated storage, hoses, nozzles, PPE and ventilation planning.
Blaster
The AI30 is $3,099 with a 44 lb (20 kg) hopper and 0.66–1.32 lb/min output. It uses 3 mm or smaller pellets.
Compressed Air
AI30 machine demand is 71–141 CFM at 87–116 PSI. About 80 CFM is a practical indoor minimum and 90–120 CFM is recommended. Select by sustained CFM at PSI, not horsepower alone.
Air Treatment
Moisture can freeze around dry ice and contribute to clumping. Depending on the compressor, use an aftercooler, dryer, moisture separator and filtration.
Dry Ice Storage
Use insulated storage and buy fresh pellets close to the cleaning date. Dry ice continuously sublimates.
PPE and Ventilation
Provide adequate ventilation for CO₂ gas and use appropriate eye, hand and hearing protection.
Model Selection
Choose AI30 for light-to-medium professional cleaning, AI30 Plus for more reach and AI50 for high-output or abrasive-ready work.
